The Lost prince by Julie Kagawa

Plot: Don't look at Them. Never let Them know you can see Them. That is Ethan Chase's unbreakable rule. Until the fey he avoids at all costs—including his reputation—begin to disappear, and Ethan is attacked. Now he must change the rules to protect his family. To save a girl he never thought he'd dare to fall for. (Goodreads)

Good Points: Okay, now I haven't read any of the other books by Julie Kagawa before, yes, I But I haven't. To be truthful fairies aren't really my kind of thing. However, and for those of you who are cursing the screen at me now for not picking up her earlier series's I actually quite liked this book. The main characters were developed well into the story and I liked where the story was going even if Ethan was exactly how Kenzie described him as this broody character.
The description in this book however is just fantastic! Everything is described in such detail that it really transforms you into the story and got me past this Fairy phobia?? that I usually have reading this type of genre.
The author also succesfully managed to give the reader a tiny crash course into some of the things that have already happened and the world which Ethan has stumbled into if you haven't read the old series like me. This was great considering and I was pretty impressed by how the author managed to not confuse the plot.

Bad Points: To nobody's fault but my own there were obviously loads of references to the Iron Fey series, however like I said you don't really need to have read that series to know what's happening. But I'm sure it makes it that whole lot better though ;)

To Sum Up... This book was really good, I loved the ending and cannot wait for the next book. I would have liked to read a little bit of the book in Kenzie's perspective as I thought she was a really good addition to the story and her character may have developed even more by doing this. Apart from that, Great Read! And if you were wondering, I am going to bow my head in shame (for not reading it sooner, obvs) and go to the bookshop to get the other series.
Thanks for checking out the Review, Please do comment :)

  2. I'm almost through The Iron King and I'm sad to say I'm not completely invested. Faeries aren't my thing either, which might be why. The Immortal Rules was really good, though. Glad you enjoyed this overall! Great review! :)
